FAQs
Have questions about the INVIZD? You’re not alone. Here are the most common answers to help you understand how it delivers your Invisible Digital Life.
What is the INVIZD and who is it designed for?
The Invizd serves as a personal, fully self-owned, tamper-resistant hardware sanctuary for secure messaging, email, notes, movies, photos, file storage, and communication. It appeals to individuals, families, small teams, and professionals who seek complete control over their data without depending on cloud providers or third parties. No personal information is required for purchase or use. The system supports trusted groups of up to 10 users, each with separate accounts. Early purchasers often receive the first year of secure remote access at no extra cost.
What makes the Invizd different from a standard NAS or apps like Signal?
A traditional NAS focuses mainly on storage. The Invizd creates a complete private ecosystem that includes encrypted communications, file sharing, and secure networking from the start with zero extra configuration. Compared to Signal, it offers end-to-end encrypted messaging without collecting phone numbers or storing messages on any servers. Each unit operates anonymously, and all activity stays on your hardware or within trusted peer connections for maximum control and privacy.
How easy is it to set up and use the Invizd?
Setup normally takes less than 10 minutes. Plug in the device, pair it with the mobile app, register your biometrics, and create an account. The interface is intuitive, so anyone who can set up a smartphone can handle it without IT expertise. It currently supports iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads, with plans for broader platform compatibility.
How do I add others and manage group access?
Invite up to 10 trusted contacts through a simple process. Each participant gets their own dedicated chat, mail, and storage space. The device owner cannot view other users’ private data. Users on different Invizd units can still connect securely for chats, photos, and files by exchanging usernames and confirming mutual acceptance. This creates a growing community of INVIZD.
Can I access my data remotely or while away from home?
Yes. Secure remote access works through private peer-to-peer connections and is typically included free for the first year. Local storage and sharing function on the same WiFi network even without internet. Remote features require an internet connection. Please see “Resources” and then read “Install Best Practices” for suggestions to help keep your remote access up and running.
What everyday activities does the Invizd support?
It enables encrypted messaging and email, secure note-taking, seamless file, movie, music & photo sharing, and private backups. All tasks remain confined to your ecosystem for easy collaboration without outside visibility.
How is my data encrypted?
Industry-leading standards protect information at rest and in transit. These include AES-256 for robust symmetric encryption, Curve25519 for secure key exchange, and ChaCha20 for efficient high-performance streaming. The layers combine with hardware-level enforcement for strong overall defense.
Where are encryption keys stored and who controls them?
Keys generate locally on your personal device and on the Invizd. They never leave the hardware, so only you can decrypt your data. No manufacturer or third party has access.
What protections apply if the Invizd is lost, stolen, or physically tampered with?
All data stays fully encrypted. Without your biometric authentication and the keys on your personal device, information cannot be accessed. Physical tampering cannot bypass the safeguards. The tamper-resistant build and security through anonymity add further protection because only you know the device’s location.
Why does the Invizd offer stronger privacy than cloud services or typical apps?
Data never leaves your hardware or the trusted peer network you define. There are no central servers to create metadata, store content, or respond to external requests. End-to-end encryption applies to all messaging and file sharing, and nothing is stored externally. Even governments cannot request access because keys and data remain solely under your control.
Is the Invizd protected against hackers or malware?
Yes. The device runs on its own isolated private network, which greatly reduces exposure. Combined with end-to-end encryption, this setup minimizes risks from attacks.
What tools and capabilities come with the Invizd?
Core features include end-to-end encrypted chat and email, secure notes, private file (movies & music) and photo sharing, and storage capacity up to 2TB. Storage expansion is under development but not yet available. Sharing works smoothly within your group and across separate Invizd units once users mutually accept each other. All functions operate without external accounts or fees.
How are software updates delivered?
Updates can use secure and encrypted physical air-gapped disks or download through the encrypted app channel. Both options keep your data fully protected and contained within the Invizd.
How do I back up or restore information?
INVIZD encrypted backup disks (one included with your purchase) create a safe offline copy. When replacing the Invizd, restore directly from these disks. Adding a new phone simply registers it as an authorized device for immediate access to stored data.
What are the physical specifications and build quality?
The Invizd has a compact and durable design with dedicated secure processors and tamper-resistant elements. It performs reliably in temperature-controlled home or office settings and includes built-in safeguards against overheating. Follow recommended installation practices for best results.
Is the hardware suitable for continuous operation?
Energy-efficient and quiet components support always-on use with low power draw and minimal noise.
What happens during power outages or hardware issues?
Stored data remains safe during power loss, though access pauses until power returns. For drive failure, regular encrypted backups via The Invizd encrypted disc keep information protected and recoverable. Please see “Resources” and then read “Install Best Practices” for suggestions to keep you up and running.
How does the private network and data exchange function?
The Invizd establishes a secure encrypted private network linking the device to your authorized units. This supports direct peer-to-peer file sharing, chats, and backups without routing through public networks. Cross-unit communication stays fully encrypted and anonymous after mutual acceptance.
Does the Invizd need an internet connection?
Internet is required for remote access. Local storage and sharing work on the same WiFi network without it. All traffic in transit applies the same strong encryption standards (AES-256, Curve25519, and ChaCha20). Please see “Resources” and then read “Install Best Practices” for suggestions on improving your internet connectivity.
Can the Invizd integrate with other devices?
The Invizd is built as a complete secure platform for storage and communication. It does not currently support integration with external IoT devices for security purposes.
Are there any ongoing costs?
No monthly subscriptions or recurring fees exist. The Invizd is a one-time purchase that includes full access to the core ecosystem and features.
