For over four decades, technology promised connection and convenience, but at a devastating cost to privacy. What began as science fiction has become an everyday reality. This is how we lost control… and how INVIZD gives it back.
The Timeline
• 1984: The first major credit breach (TRW/Experian) exposes 90 million Americans’ data.
• 1990s: The shift to digital mobile networks (2G) makes personal data easily trackable.
• 2004: The AOL breach leaks 92 million records; insider blackmail becomes common.
• 2014: The eBay hack compromises 145 million users.
• 2024–2025: State-sponsored attacks target global SMS infrastructure; major breaches like Conduent expose 25+ million users.
The Human Cost
Behind every breach are real stories: drained bank accounts, ruined reputations, blackmail, lost careers, and shattered peace of mind. The “I have nothing to hide” mindset has proven dangerously false.
The Turning Point
After watching privacy collapse for 45 years, the realization is clear: renting your digital life from Big Tech is no longer acceptable.

The Spark
A group of us were at dinner in 2022 and started reminiscing about our various digital experiences during our lifetimes. We discussed George Orwell's book 1984, and how scary it was that much of his satirical writing was now true! We joked, laughed, and discussed the fact that we were living through the greatest technological revolution of mankind. Then it hit us like a bolt of lightning…

We realized that over the last 45 years billions of accounts had been breached. Untold identities had been stolen, and our digital lives were hacked, stolen and sold. From the first email in 1984 to the “free” messaging apps of 2025, every leap in technology came with a bigger price: our privacy. We recognized that Orson’s predictions weren’t just a cautionary tale, it was the harsh reality of how Big Brother never left…he had moved into our homes.

One member of our group that let us know that he had been working on a project in 2016, that would be used to transfer files via a decentralized protocol. We decided at that moment to take that project and create a cloudless digital ecosystem that would enable anonymous and encrypted communication, secure and private data transfer, and storage while simultaneously giving the user total visibility and control over their digital lives.
